Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using PathMagnet. These Terms govern your access to and use of the PathMagnet platform, website, and services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Agility Labs ("we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using PathMagnet, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or otherwise accessing PathMagnet, you confirm that:

  • You are at least 13 years of age
  • You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms
  • If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you have parental or guardian awareness of your use of the platform
  • If you are accessing PathMagnet on behalf of an organization, you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms

2. Description of Service

PathMagnet is an AI-powered career guidance platform that provides personalized educational pathway recommendations based on students' interests, values, and strengths. The Service includes:

  • Career interest assessments and occupational matching
  • Information about college programs, military pathways, and apprenticeship opportunities
  • Career exploration tools drawing on federal data sources including O*NET, IPEDS, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics

Important: All recommendations provided by PathMagnet are for informational and exploratory purposes only. They do not constitute professional career counseling, academic advising, psychological evaluation, or any form of licensed professional advice. Always consult qualified professionals for major educational and career decisions.

3. User Accounts

  • You must create an account to access most features of PathMagnet
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating your account
  • You may only maintain one account per person
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use PathMagnet only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree NOT to:

  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable federal, state, or local laws
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the platform
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
  • Share your account credentials with others or create accounts on behalf of others without authorization
  • Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or other harmful code
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
  • Use the Service to harass, intimidate, or harm others
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service

5. Intellectual Property

The PathMagnet platform, including its design, software, branding, content, and matching algorithms, is owned by Agility Labs and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

  • PathMagnet IP: All original content, features, and functionality of PathMagnet are the exclusive property of Agility Labs
  • Federal data: Occupational and educational data sourced from O*NET, IPEDS, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics is publicly available federal data and is credited appropriately. This data remains the property of the respective federal agencies.
  • Your data: Your assessment responses and any content you submit to PathMagnet belong to you. By submitting assessment data, you grant PathMagnet a limited license to use that data to provide and improve the Service.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works of PathMagnet content without our express written permission.

6. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

  • Career and educational pathway recommendations are generated based on self-reported assessment data and publicly available federal occupational statistics. Results may not reflect individual circumstances, local job markets, or rapidly changing economic conditions.
  • PathMagnet does not guarantee employment, college admission, apprenticeship placement, military enlistment, or any specific career outcome.
  • Salary data and occupational outlook information are drawn from federal sources and represent statistical averages; individual results will vary.
  • PathMagnet does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components.

We strongly encourage users to consult with qualified school counselors, career advisors, and other professionals before making major educational or career decisions.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AGILITY LABS AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

In no event shall PathMagnet's total liability to you for all claims exceed the amount you paid to use the Service in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. Because PathMagnet is currently provided free of charge, this limit is $0.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.

8. Termination

  • You may delete your account and discontinue use of the Service at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion feature in your settings
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account, without prior notice, if we determine that you have violated these Terms or engaged in any conduct that harms PathMagnet or its users
  • Upon termination, your right to access the Service ceases immediately
  • Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will survive

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Illinois.

Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at pathmagnet.com/contact to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.

10. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, by sending an email notification to registered users. Your continued use of PathMagnet after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
